What are the benefits of taking part in clinical research?
The treatments involved in clinical trials often represent the newest technology and protocols, and may offer possible solutions to individuals who have not realized success with other treatments. Also, patients who participate gain an increased understanding of the technology and their conditions. There is also the satisfaction of helping to further scientific knowledge which will benefit many other individuals in the future.

How do I apply?
Click on the INFERTILITY FORMS tab above, and follow the instructions. After you have submitted the required forms and the information has been analyzed by the respective research team, you will be contacted to learn whether or not you have been accepted to join the study.

How can I learn more about a study?
Please use the information and the links provided on this website. If there is a formal webpage on the government site, clinicaltrials.gov, you will find a link to that document on the study's page. In addition, trial updates and related information on each subject that have been published by the study leaders will be listed.

What is DHEA?
DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) is a natural steroid hormone sold over-the-counter. Traditionally it has been prescribed for a wide range of conditions from Alzheimer's disease to muscle-building for athletes. Over the last few years, infertility doctors have realized an apparent correlation between a carefully measured regiment of DHEA and increased incidence of natural pregnancy, especially in older women.

What is the cost?
Some studies are funded by endowments and grants, and participants in those may incur little or no expense. However if a study is not funded, patients will need to discuss cost requirements with the research team.

How will I be notified if I am accepted?
When you apply to volunteer for a study, you will be contacted whether or not you are accepted. However please allow at least several weeks for researchers to analyze your application and to determine if you have the proper qualifications to join a study group.
